I have just 4 weeks and right around 3.5 days before I deliver….but who’s keeping track anyway? π
Here’s what life has been like since last week’s update:
:: My back pain is pretty much gone except for some occasional discomfort right after I wake up.
:: I have all of my Christmas shopping done for the kids! Minus the new baby, of course. We’ll probably get her a few things for her “first Christmas”, but she won’t be needing much since she’ll only be 10 days old and all.
:: I have an ultrasound scheduled for this Wednesday, and it will probably be my last ultrasound for this pregnancy.
:: The baby has been kicking away and taking up more space in my tummy. She’s causing me to be short of breath at times and there isn’t a lot of room on my lap for my 2.5yr. old anymore.
:: I’ve gained a total of 26 lbs. so far. Not too bad considering I attended two birthday parties last weekend and wasn’t shy about how much food I consumed! Time to get things back under control this week.
:: Feeling a little overwhelmed at times at the thought of being mom to 5 children, but I know God’s grace is sufficient and will guide me through.
:: David, our youngest, is really starting to come around and actually acknowledges the baby now. This is progress! He even calls her by name, Elisabeth. It only took 8 months!
:: Feeling less fear about having a c-section this time around. In the past, the thought of the anesthesia caused me to be apprehensive and fearful about delivery day, but I’m not feeling this so much this time around. God’s grace…
:: We still haven’t decided on a middle name for the baby. I think it’s a choice between Grace and Ann/Anne.
:: We bought a vehicle to fit the baby! It’s always a good thing when you can fit ALL of your children in your vehicle. Isn’t it? Actually, we had a Chrysler Pacifica that only seated 6 people, and there was absolutely no way to fit another child into that vehicle. So, we traded that car in and paid the difference for a vehicle that would fit our entire family of 7. We got a mini-van (with better gas mileage) that seats 8 people. That means we can fit our whole family in the mini-van plus have room to actually give someone the occasional ride! I love this! And the kids were/are just thrilled about the new car, too.
Oh, and by God’s amazing grace, we got a great deal on the vehicle (as the Lord blessed Ruben with patience and great haggling skills – this car deal was about 3 weeks+ in the making), and the van is 100% paid for. An answer to prayer.
