I know I’m late in getting pictures posted, but I finally got a few updated pictures of myself on the 4th of July where my hair wasn’t all frizzy. I haven’t been straightening my hair much lately, and by the end of the day….it doesn’t alway look the best.
I’m 201.5 lbs. Yay! I’ve lost another 1.5 lbs. since my last update.
My clothes are fitting me looser, especially around the hips. I seem to be losing the weight around the hip/thigh area. The tummy area is going to be the hardest to lose, I think.
I know it looks like we’re on vacation in these pictures, but we’re actually at a park on the 4th of July. The town where we live hosts a parade and picnic to celebrate Independence Day. The kids had fun scrambling for the treats and stuff that those in the parade were throwing out to those of us watching. The kids don’t get candy often, and they were thrilled to be snatching up suckers, gum, and jelly beans.
Afterward, we even got in a bit of exercise walking around the park and letting the kids burn off some energy by letting them run in the nearby tennis court.
We had a fun and memorable first 4th of July here in Georgia. We topped it off with watching the fireworks just a couple of minutes from our house.
But anyway, let’s get back to the point of this post. π

P.S. Thank you to everyone asking about how Elisabeth was doing and wishing her well. Thank you! Elisabeth is much better now. Her fever lasted 5 days, and thankfully it’s gone now and no one else got sick. Praise the Lord!

Looks like all of you had a great time on the 4th. It is wonderful your weight loss is going so well. I have started this past week really paying attention to when I am wanting to eat but not hungry. I am trying to break the cycle of eating just because or when I am stressed. This week I also lost 1.5 lbs. I was really excited when I saw that on the scale. I know most of my weight problem is from unconsciously eating when I am not hungry. So I think if I can get that aspect of my eating changed it will go a long way in improving my health.

Way to go, Shelly! Since I’ve been working to lose weight, I also noticed that I’m definitely an emotional eater. I run to food when I’m stressed out. I didn’t realize this about myself before, I know for sure now that I eat (and reach for unhealthy foods) when I’m stressed out.
It’s good to realize and know this about ourselves so that we can make healthier choices and be aware of our weaknesses.

You look great, Sandra! I bet you feel great, 18+lbs. lighter! I feel the same way about the tummy area, it seems to just want to stick around longer.
My kids got a lot of candy on the 4th too and I’m not crazy about having it in my house. I might have to sneak it out slowly.

Thank you so much, Paula! I’m feeling so much better, and I’m loving the extra energy I have. You are doing a fantastic job on your weight loss journey, too. π
On the candy, I’ve already thrown a few handfulls in the trash…shhhh.
