I weighed myself this morning, and I’m down to 196.5 pounds. That means I’ve lost another 1.5 pounds since my last update!
Overall, I’m feeling good. My energy level is great, and I’m not feeling completely exhausted at times when I should have plenty of energy to make it through the day. Just a few months ago, I would regularly feel wiped out early in the day. At first, I thought it was just trying to keep up with 5 kids (3 of those kids being 5 yrs. old and under), but I think it also had something to do with my diet. Since we’ve switched to a more whole foods plant-based diet, I’m not experiencing the exhaustion on a near daily basis anymore.
The one big thing I’ve not been doing so much that I want to change is exercise. I’ve been skipping trips to the local zoos with Ruben and the kids in order to get some quiet time to work on projects. I’ve also not been getting on the treadmill like I’ve wanted.
I’m seriously going to work on exercising regularly. I must, especially since my work-at-home job requires so much time sitting in front of a computer.
Anyway, here’s what my progress looks like this week:
Beginning weight: 220 lbs.
Current Weight: 196.5 lbs.
Goal Weight: 170 lbs.
# of total pounds I want to lose in 2012: 50lbs.
# of pounds to go until I reach my goal: 26.5 lbs.
Total # of pounds lost to date: 23.5 lbs.
Next week, I’m going to share an updated picture of myself.
How is your weight loss progress coming along this week?

So glad to hear you had such good success this week. Looks like even without the exercise on a regular basis you are making good progress.
I have been doing more around the house this week and the week before I was carrying around my son (40 pounds) often, so I am getting some exercise in that way, but nothing formal. My overeating has been out of control lately. But at least I am aware of it so I can correct it. I think all the stress recently has really thrown me off. But everything should get back to normal soon.

Thank you, Shelly! And regarding food + stress….I can relate. When I feel stressed, I run to food. I didn’t notice this about myself until this past year. I just never paid attention until I read a blog post where another blogger mentioned that in her weight loss journey she noticed that she didn’t run to food for comfort when stressed.
I started paying attention to what I did when the pressure was on, and I found that I would quickly turn to food for comfort in times of stress. It’s good to know this about yourself, so that you can try to get a handle on it in stressful situations.
On the plus side, I’m so glad that your son is better! Praise God!

Finally, I reached the 20 pound mark. I have a lot more to lose than 50 pounds, but girl, you are so close to 1/2 way there. You are doing amazing!

Woot! Great job, Lisa! And thank you for the encouragement. 🙂

That is wonderful!!! You are really doing a great job!! It feels so good when you have more energy. I know when I eat unhealthy food I end up feeling like crap and my body just does not want that junk.
I’ve been faithful to my workouts. That is one thing that I cannot live without anymore. I just feel better when I get my workouts in.

Thank you so much, Carrie! I’m trying to work out more and get on the treadmill more often. I had plans to get some walking in today with my family at the children’s museum, but our baby girl woke up with a fever, so we stayed home. 🙁
