Now that the ebook is finished, I’m ready to start working harder towards accomplishing my goals each week.
I’m also going to start getting to bed before 1:00am. Yeah.
Okay, here’s how I did with last week’s goals:
Family/Mothering Goals:
1. Work on putting into practice (more often) the verse of scripture that we memorized last weekβ Titus 3:2 (to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people) – We continued to practice the verse, talk about it, and worked toward living it out. We are still far from where we need to be and we are going to continue to work on loving each other like Jesus, but we are starting to memorize the Ten Commandments with the kids this week.
2. Be off the computer from 8-9pm when the kids are getting ready for bed– I did this for the most part, except for Sunday night (I jumped back on around 8:45pm) when I realized there was yet ANOTHER issue with my ebook formatting being wonky. I tell ya! I’ve already said it a couple of times to others, but I’ll say it again, I’m so not going to be offering ebook formatting services in my design shop. I will have no hair left if I do. I’ll reserve those services for EXTREMELY close family and friends. Lol! πSeriously, though, I absolutely loved being off of the computer between 8:00-9:00pm when the kids were getting ready for bed and the night was winding down. It made our bedtime routine go so much smoother, and I think it made our time together before bed – less stressful. I am continuing this routine and plan to make it a habit.
Personal Goals:
3. Drink juice at least 2 days this week
4. Read my bible everyday this weekβ¦starting today5. Walk on the treadmill at least 3 days this week – I didn’t get on the treadmill at all last week, and I realized as I was dancing to music in my office with my baby girl in my arms that I don’t need to get on the treadmill to exercise. Duh, I know.
At this point, because it isn’t always convenient for me to take 30 minutes alone to walk on the treadmill (since I’m not waking up before the kids right now – remember the 1:00am bedtime?), I’m going to focus on exercising with them during the day. That may be a dance party in my office or it may mean I run around and act crazy with my boys. Probably both.
Home Management Goals:
6. Help the kids get a handle on the LEGO mess in their room. Itβs LEGO city, literally. – I did a little cleaning, but it’s still LEGO city in there.
7. Work on child-proofing, because Elisabeth is officially mobile. – Does putting one outlet cover in the wall count?
Business Goals:
8. Sign up for e-junkie
9. Finish first draft of the ebook and send for editing10. Blog at least 4 times this week – Not done, but I’m going to focus on spending less time on social media and more time writing blog posts.
And now for this week’s goals:
Family/Mothering Goals:
1. Memorize the first two of the Ten Commandments (you shall have no other gods before Me, and you shall not make unto yourselves any graven image)
2. Be off the computer from 8-9pm when the kids are getting ready for bed (working on making this a habit)
Personal Goals:
3. Drink juice at least 2 days this week
4. Read my bible everyday this week
5. Exercise with the kids
Home Management Goals:
6. Help the kids get a handle on the LEGO mess in their room.
7. Work on child-proofing, because Elisabeth is officially mobile.
Business Goals:
8. Decide whether or not to sign up to do Kindle Select for my ebook (basically, the ebook is exclusively available on Kindle for 90 days and Amazon offers some perks)
9. Fill out my author page on Amazon
10. Blog at least 4 times this week
What goals do you have for this week? How did you do on last weekβs goals?

I had a better week! I’m also excited about your new book. =)

This past week I was able to get about half of my goals accomplished. I am hoping for a better week this week but already today was a little crazy. This week I am hoping to get a new cleaning routine in place. I am following along with MSM lunchbox freezer cooking which has gone well so far. I am also trying a food stamp challenge this week. I posted our first day today and we stayed well within the budgeted amount.
I can image how frustrating it is to keep finding formatting problems with the ebook. I remember trying to get my website set up and all the stuff I had to learn seemed overwhelming. Now I am working on learning photoshop and illustrator. I can get so frustrated at times. But at least I am making progress and getting better at it. Eventually I would like to do an ebook too maybe I can get some good tips from you.

Hi Shelly! I’m really enjoying your Food Stamp Challenge posts! You are doing a great job of breaking down how much it costs to feed your family and helping us to be more aware of how much we are spending to feed our families. π
