Last week was an interesting, out-of-the-ordinary week, with the book launch. It was fun, though, and I managed to work on projects and get some of my goals accomplished in the midst of it.
Here’s how I did:
Family/Mothering Goals:
1. Memorize the first two of the Ten Commandments(you shall have no other gods before Me, and you shall not make unto yourselves any graven image)2. Be off the computer from 8-9pm when the kids are getting ready for bed (working on making this a habit) – I started the week well, but on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, I ended up being on the computer at some point during 8-9pm for work. I wasn’t on for the whole hour, maybe 15-20 minutes to check on some things. I’m going to back to being off the computer during this time, though.
Personal Goals:
3. Drink juice at least 2 days this week4. Read my bible everyday this week – There was at least one day where I didn’t open a physical bible to read it, but having this as a goal has been very positive, overall.
5. Exercise with the kidsHome Management Goals:
6. Help the kids get a handle on the LEGO mess in their room.
7. Work on child-proofing, because Elisabeth is officially mobile.Business Goals:
8. Decide whether or not to sign up to do Kindle Select for my ebook (basically, the ebook is exclusively available on Kindle for 90 days and Amazon offers some perks)
9. Fill out my author page on Amazon
10. Blog at least 4 times this week
And now for this week’s goals:
Family/Mothering Goals:
1. Create reading goals for the kids. The three oldest will be doing the BookIt! Program.
2. Be off the computer from 8-9pm when the kids are getting ready for bed (working on making this a habit)
Personal Goals:
3. Go to bed by 11:30pm
4. Read my bible everyday this week
5. Exercise with the kids
Home Management Goals:
6. Make more conditioner and body scrub
7. Clean and wipe down the bathroom and kitchen sinks
Business Goals:
8. Go over the upcoming blog conference schedule with Ruben and make a plan for how we’ll work things
9. Attend a blog conference and network with other bloggers (After almost 4 years as a blogger, I’m going to my very first conference. So exciting!)
10. Blog at least 5 times this week
What goals do you have for this week?Β

I like your goal to exercise with the kids. My son with exercise with me occasionally it is so cute to watch him try to follow along. It looks like you got so many goals accomplish last week. That is great. I did not do so well this past week. But here is another week to tackle those things I did not get done.
I was able to get my Facebook banner up and I changed my twitter page too. Now I am going to tackle the website. Well the Lord willing this week.
It is so exciting you are going to your first blogging conference. I wish I could find one in my area. The only ones I have found are beer and wine blog conferences which really don’t fit with my blogging. Sandra what is the best way to find a conference in your area? Is there a place to see all the conferences for 2012 or 2013?
Sandra says
Hi Shelly!
I’m thankful for a new week to tackle goals, too. And I try not to get discouraged if I’ve had a week where I set a bunch of goals, but only tackled 3 or 4. I just try to pick up where I left off or adjust my goals to make them more manageable.
Here are a few links to find blog conferences in your area:

I hope those help. π I would love to attend the Allume conference with you guys this year…..but it’s probably not going to happen. Maybe next year, Lord willing!
Shelly says
Thanks Sandra for the links I will check to see if any are in my area. Erin is going to go to Allume but not me ;(. Maybe someday.

I think those are such great goals. I get so befuddled with all the stuff to do between home and family!
Sandra says
Thanks, girl! π I find that writing my goals out helps me to have more direction in my days and also helps me to know what areas I need to work on in terms of home, family, business, etc..
Lydia says
I love your goal about reading the Bible everyday. That is a goal for me as well. And unfortunately a struggle just about every day. This is a struggle that I know is worthwhile, so I will keep fighting! Keep up the hard work!
Sandra says
Thanks, Lydia! I’ve found that having it as a goal helps me to be more purposeful and reminds me to open my Bible. π
