I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We enjoyed Thanksgiving at my house with my in-laws, and I purposely didn’t eat until it hurt this year. I ate until I was full, but then I stopped. I loved not having the oh-so-uncomfortable-I-ate-too-much feeling afterward. This is probably the first time I’ve ever attempted not to overeat at Thanksgiving. Ever. π
I’m slowing catching up with the 4 Weeks to a More Organized Home {Simplified} series, and I’m hoping to be completely caught up by Monday. We’ll see.
Hereβs how I did withΒ theΒ Day 8 Assignment:
:: Get dressed in something that makes you feel great. — Done, and I have to say again that I love feeling good about what I’m wearing. The encouragement to get dressed in something that I feel good in each day has been wonderful.
:: Refer to your list of weekly goals, and make a list of no more than 5-7 specific things you want to accomplish today. — Here’s what I wrote down on my Day 8 List:
After I publish this post, I’ll have everything done except for answering emails…I am always behind on answering emails.
:: Set the timer for 10 minutes and go through your messiest dresser drawer. Remove items you no longer love, need, and/or wear. Quickly organize the remaining items. — I ended up going through my 3 year-old son’s drawer, because my husband has been asking me to go through it and take out the things that David no longer needs or uses. The drawer was pretty messy and stuffed full of clothes, so I went through and took about a pile of things that could be removed and not missed.
David, our 3 year-old, is extremely particular about what he wears and what is on his shirt. At the moment, he’s fond of footballs, baseballs, and Angry Birds on his shirts. He was thrilled that we found one of his new favorite shirts (with a football on the front of it). Just one of the perks of organizing, I guess. π
:: Wipe down all the door handles in your home. — This is something that needed to be done, and I’m glad to have it crossed off.
How was your Thanksgiving? Have you done any extra organizing over the long holiday weekend?

I wish that I had seen this sooner. Hubby just went back to working more hours and with 4 kids – I could use all the organizational help that I can find. I am going to invest in a small notebook and start making daily and weekly goals!

Hi Mellisa! You can go ahead and jump into the MSM organizational series anytime you want. π I’m completing the assignments when I can and just link up then.
Making weekly and daily goals is also a GREAT idea! It’s what keeps me on track.

Great job on getting your goals done today Sandra. I haven’t done any organizing this long weekend but I will be restarting on Monday. Both of my kids are now sick so I am trying to comfort them as much as I can. I am hopeful this sickness will pass without any major health issues.

Hi Shelly! I enjoy reading your organizational posts. π I hope your kids are feeling even better today!

I love making to-do lists and being organized, but this year has been crazy and I’ve fallen out of being my usual, organized self. Your post has inspired me to try to get it back together!
