Finally, I’m posting the same day as the assignment in the 4 Weeks to a More Organized Home {Simplified} series. π
Here’s how I did with theΒ Day 5 Assignment:
:: Get dressed in something that makes you feel great. — I started the day wearing black capris and a black top.
Then the baby had a diaper leak….so I had to change my pants.
:: Refer to your list of weekly goals, and make a list of no more than 5-7 specific things you want to accomplish today. — I was happy to get all of the things done on my list!
:: Remove your couch cushions and clean out any crumbs, toys, or other miscellaneous items you find. — Um, yeah…can you guess what we found?
That’s right, LEGOs. There were also crumbs and bits of food. No money, though. π
:: Do something you really enjoy and that relaxes and rejuvenates you. — I spent some time this morning reading my devotional and my Bible. This is always a source of stress relief for me. I’ve been so stressed out the last few weeks, and I know that I don’t *have* to be. I can take my burdens to the Lord, and when I do, I always feel relief. I feel peace. I haven’t been doing this like I should, though, and I let stress overwhelm me.
I’m feeling much better now, and I had a chance to just sit in the kids’ room and watch them play while I talked to my husband. That was relaxing.
Have you been able to spend some time relaxing lately?Β
Jenny says
I spent time yesterday visiting with a good friend for over an hour. Making relaxation a priority can be hard to do when there’s a long list of to dos staring us down!
Sandra says
Hi Jenny, I agree! Making relaxation a priority is hard when we look around and see all that there is to be done around us. It’s worth it in the end, though, because relaxing is what can energize us to tackle that to-do list. π

I only found a few crumbs under my cushions today. The kids found some toys and socks yesterday when they removed the cushion and they put the items away. I did not do any relaxing. I picked up leaves for my husband so he could relax a little more this weekend. So I did do something for someone I love so I figured that would count for something.
Sandra says
Hi Shelly! I read your post, and that was a wonderful thing that you did for your husband. I’m sure he really appreciated it.

Hey stopping by via SITS! looks like you are having a lot of success with your goals! When I clean in my couch lately I find bits of string and yarn from some sewing and knitting projects I’ve been working on lately!
And as for relaxing, I let myself sleep in all the way to 11 this morning (ahhh sooo good!)
Happy weekend!
Sandra says
Hi Sara, sleeping til 11am is a dream for me! π Maybe some day…lol.
Patty says
Hi Sandra! I am loving these posts! And can I just say that you look GREAT! And your hair is so long! It looks beautiful! You’re such an inspiration to me, as I admire your discipline and faithfulness to manage your time and your family.
Sandra says
Thank you, Patty! I am enjoying the longer hair, too. Raquel isn’t in Georgia to cut it, and I haven’t decided to look for anyone new yet. Lol! π

I love “To Do” list! I can’t get anything accomplished at work without my daily to do list. If it’s not written down, it doesn’t get done. Now the trick is to write it down : )
I have a giveaway listed on my site that you can feel free to share with your followers

Stopping by from SITS.

Hi Pricilla! You and I are definitely alike. When it’s written down for me, it has a much higher chance of getting done in a somewhat timely fashion than if it just stays floating around my head.
Erin @ My Mommy World says
I’m so glad that you were able to spend some time relaxing with your family π I hope you get to do that more often!
Sandra says
Hi Erin, I am fitting this in more often lately. π
