I know I’ve gotten behind on posting updates for the 4 Weeks to a More Organized Home {Simplified} series, so while everyone else is taking this week off, I’m going to try to catch up.
Here’s how I did with the Day 6 Assignment:
:: Get dressed in something that makes you feel great. — I’ve enjoyed this reminder, and I’ve been making an effort to wear something each day that I feel good wearing. I’m straightening my hair more often and putting on makeup more regularly, too.
:: Create a list of weekly goals. — Here are my goals for this week. I also made a list of what I wanted to accomplish on Day 6.
:: Set the timer for 10 minutes and run through your home and quickly pick up everything that’s out of place and put it away. — I’ve been in clean-up mode as my in-laws visit.
:: Set the timer for 10 minutes and clean out the inside of your vehicle. — I will confess that this is something I didn’t do, because my husband always does it.
We are a one car family, and we try to keep the inside of our mini-van clean most of the time. When it does need to be cleaned out or vacuumed, my husband always does the job. He probably cleans it inside and out – at least once a month.
I’m thankful for the way he always stays on top of keeping our vehicle clean. I make the uncomfortable phone calls to our cell phone company, and he cleans the car. It works for us. 😉
How is your week going?

This sounds like a challenge I might need to get involved in! Thanks for sharing and you look great!

Thank you, Debbie! 🙂 It is a fun challenge, and I like the push I’m getting to be more productive and focused. I need that!

You look so nice in that picture Sandra! I vacuumed out my car last week (a couple days later than the day it was actually assigned) and it looks so much better…now I’m trying to make sure it stays clean.
Sandra says
Thanks, Erin! Keeping the car clean with kids is a challenge for us. We try to remember to keep a plastic bag in the car for garbage accumulation, and we also try to remember to take out of the car anything we’ve brought along for our car ride….books, toys, jackets, etc..

Sandra, looks like you are doing great with getting all your cleaning done. My husband usually does keep our cars clean too but I did actually vacuumed one of them, the one he drives the most. I have been finding I need to do a 10 minutes quick clean a few times a day and it keeps the house looking great. So I don’t have too much to do before we have family arrive tomorrow.
Sandra says
Hi Shelly! I’m glad to hear that you don’t have to do much cleaning before family visits. That is wonderful and super helpful. 🙂
I’m trying to get at least 50% of my cooking done today, so that tomorrow is so hard. The great thing is that now that my daughter is 10 years old, she is helping a lot more. My 3 year old also helped this morning…so far so good!
The bummer is that my baby girl started a fever, and she is not feeling well at all. I’m praying that it goes away soon, though! My husband went out this morning and picked up some fever reducer medicine.
