Time is going by so quickly lately. We are in the middle of a major life change right now that I’m sure is making it feel like time is zooming by. I will post soon here on the blog about the change I’m talking about.
For now, here’s how I did with last week’s goals:
Family/Mothering Goals:
1.
Keep up with adding one ornament to the Christmas tree everyday until Christmas2. Make Christmas cookies! — I decided to wait to make Christmas cookies, because my daughter’s birthday was last week. We ended up getting a Disney cake for her, which for some reason was twice the size we normally get our cakes. My husband went in and ordered it, and he said the gal he was placing the order with never asked him what size he wanted. So we ended up with 1/2 sheet cake for our family of seven. Um, yeah. It is a delicious cake, and we’re still enjoying it!
Personal Goals:
3. Juice at least 3 days this week — We never got around to juicing. Things always seemed to come up.
4.

I’m glad I am not the only one that time is just flying by. I did get quite a bit done last week and I am feeling a little more caught up. The kids are excited because they are forecasting snow for tonight, we don’t get much snow here and we have only had snow on Christmas one year out of all the years I have lived here. So I have some excited children in our home today.
I am hoping to finish up on the baking and get cookie and candy plates delivered this week. I also did a plugin update and now it is broken. I am hopeful to have it resolved this week too.
I hope your week goes well for you.

Thanks, Shelly! Snow!!! That’s so cool! Did you end up getting snowfall last night?
I have to say we are the exact opposite. Living in IL we got heaps of snow every year, and in GA…well, there’s almost no need for winter jackets yet and I’m still wearing flip flops. My daughter went to her dentist appointment in shorts this morning.
We actually do miss the snow, though ( But NOT the driving in it). We should make it back to IL in time to see it. The kids are happy about that. π
I hope you have a great week, too, Shelly!

Yes we got snow but not last night but today. It snowed quite a bit for a couple of hours. Everything was covered with a snow. Then the sun came out and warmed up and it all melted away. We might get some more tonight and then it should all turn to rain. It was fun while it lasted. I posted a photo on Facebook today.

Hi Shelly! I just saw the photo, and it looks like you got a good amount. It looked nice enough to enjoy before it melted. π I’ll have to post some pics of the snow I’m sure we’ll see in the next few months. A couple of years ago, we had a HUGE snowstorm in February.
They even closed the community college I attended for 2 days, which is rare. I’m making sure to keep the winter jackets unpacked for our move…I’m sure we’ll need them asap in IL.

What an adorable cake! I hope Elisabeth enjoyed her birthday π
We had our Sunday School Christmas pageant yesterday, and both our kids were in it. They didn’t have speaking parts, but they sure were cute in their angel and sheep costumes. I can’t get my head around the fact that Christmas is only a week away!
This week we are going to make some homemade cocoa mix to give to friends, as well as some cookies for us to enjoy at home. I also need to get the presents wrapped. On Thursday, we are going to my daughter’s school to make gingerbread houses with her.

Thanks, Erin! Elisabeth had a very nice first birthday.
I am looking forward to making cookies with the kids soon…after we finish the cake off.
Have fun at your daughter’s school this Thursday! π We love decorating gingerbread houses.
