The partial juice fast is over, and I’m glad I did it. I had juice six days this week (including today – Saturday), and that’s a big accomplishment.
I’m feeling good other than being sick, and I’m looking forward to incorporating exercise into my daily routine. I might as well, since the treadmill is almost finally clear of all the boxes that were stacked on it. π
I’m hoping to unpack the final, huge, and overly-full box on Sunday. It’s the one with a bunch of random stuff in it that I don’t know where to put yet.
Anyway, here is what I ate on Friday:Β
Breakfast: This is not the norm, but I ended up skipping breakfast. π After I woke up on Friday morning, I got busy with cleaning, getting the kids breakfast, and helping them with school. Before I knew it, it was nearly lunchtime, and I hadn’t eaten…or showered.
Snack: It gets worse. After skipping breakfast and getting a shower in, I shared a fun-size twix candy bar with my baby girl as my first piece of food of the day. Bad, I know.
Lunch: coffee, hamburger, tater tots, corn, and broccoli
For some reason, the hamburger didn’t sit well with me. I had that “hard to breath” feeling that I get sometimes when I eat chinese takeout. No one else complained, but when my husband had leftovers later that night, he told me he was having that same feeling. Weird, but we ended up getting rid of the rest of the leftovers. I think I read somewhere or watched something that made me think we are probably having an allergic reaction to the hamburger.
Anyway, moving right along.
Lunch Dessert: plain cupcake without frosting
Snack: juice (apples and lemon) — I love this juice! I could drink it everyday. It tastes like lemonade.
Dinner: We had a highly unstructured dinner, which isn’t normal. But I ate asparagus (which was mushy, because it overcooked while I chatted with my mom :)), greek yogurt, tortillas chips with a cheese dip that my mom brought over, and coffee
Snack: tea and popcorn
I’ll post my total weight lost this past week on Monday, and I promise to post my “before” pictures as soon as I can. For now, it’s back to my to-do list…
How was your week? Did you enjoy reading these posts? I’m thinking of sharing more juice recipes here on the blog and possibly doing a partial juice fast with updates like this maybe once a month.

Great job juicing each day. I wonder if your problem with breathing after eating the hamburger is a sensitivity to MSG. I have had this happen to me before. MSG doesn’t have to be listed on the ingredients it can be listed as natural seasonings.
I did enjoy following along with your juicing this past week. I hope you do share like this in the future. Please do share some of your juice recipes too.

Hi Shelly! Thank you for the great feedback! π
And I think I do have a sensitivity to MSG. I don’t like how companies hide it in food products behind words like “natural seasonings” or “natural flavors.” That’s so wrong, and I wish there were more strick labeling laws.
