It was pretty easy to find things to declutter today. The secret is to do it when the kids aren’t paying attention. π
Then I’m able to get rid of things quickly and without notice.
Otherwise, you know what happens, right?
They notice you’re throwing away that toy they haven’t played with in a year and suddenly, it’s one of their most prized possessions, which promptly gets put away (again) for safekeeping. Or, if your kids are younger, they’ll just start playing with said toy right then and there to prove that it should remain in their possession.
Kids are so funny.
Today, 4 items went to donation and the other items met the trash can.
Are you joining in this challenge? Is there clutter in your home that you could get rid of today?
Shelly says
We went through some of my son’s clothing today. He seems to be growing like crazy lately so things are becoming too small. We will be donating all of the items as they are still in good shape. π
Sandra says
That’s great, Shelly! I love being able to donate clothes and pass them on whenever I can.
Lydia @ Not Afraid of the Snow says
Way to get rid of toys! I don’t have kids yet, but sometimes I tend to hang onto kids toys for the future…or when my niece and nephew come over. So maybe I am just as bad as them!
Sandra says
Lol, Lydia! You know, for certain toys, sometimes it’s harder for me to get rid of them than my kids. It’s the toys that we’ve had f o r e v e r that get me. π
Money Saving Enthusiast says
It’s nice when the decision is easy. I have so many things I can’t part with.
Sandra says
So far it hasn’t been hard to part with anything, but I know that as the month goes on…it’ll probably get a little harder. π
