Having five children has certainly made my family susceptible to unforgettable experiences when it comes to diapers.
If you have children, I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. It’s the worst when those experiences happen in public and your diaper bag isn’t in arms reach. Or worse, if you’ve forgotten the diaper bag at home and have to clean baby up and wrap her in a blanket. ๐
Unforgettable Diaper Experiences
All of my kids have had their fair share of diaper ‘moments,’ but I think, for our family, the diaper moments that we became familiar with when it came to our fifth baby completely beat out all the rest. Thankfully, most of the time, her explosionsย diaper ‘moments’ happened either in her high chair or her swing — at home.
I don’t know what it is about babies, but somehow, when they fill their diaper, it literally defies gravity, goes UP, and comes out the backend of their diaper and, well, creates a big mess that mommy or daddy has to change. It doesn’t stop there, though, because then you have to wash baby’s clothes and clean up the area where the incident occurred.
Solution to Our Problem
As you can imagine, when these types of humorous diaper ‘moments’ keep happening, you have to search for a diaper that’s going to make a difference and work for your family, so that gravity-defying moments like the ones I mentioned happen less frequently or not at all. One diaper that we literally bought by the case because it offers great long-lasting protection that we can count on is Huggies Snug & Dry.
Huggies Snug & Dry offers these benefits so that you can focus more on your baby and less on the mess:
- New SureFit* design with up to 12 hours of leakage protection
- SnugFit* waistband for an all-around fit
- A ‘closer-to-body’ fit to move with babyโs twists and turns
- A Softer outer cover (Love this!)
And now for the GIVEAWAY!

What’s the most memorable or funny adventure you’ve experienced with your baby? Why is being “snug and fit” for better protection important to your family?
Jessica S says
I remember when my daughter first started walking & we walked out into the rain, at first she was scared & was unsure & then started laughing & loved it. It was a great moment. We have always been big fans & Huggies, being snug & fit helps keep things in that we don’t want on our sweet babies clothes! ๐
Sandra says
That’s a great story, Jessica! ๐ And so sweet…
And I agree, being snug and fit DOES help keep things in that we don’t want on baby’s clothes. So true. Thanks for sharing, Jessica!
Mary says
We switched to Huggies after a 4 hour plane ride ended in two exploding diapers and two outfit changes for both our little guy and Mommy. When it comes to baby gear I definitely have my clear winners!
Elena says
I remember one day my son took off his diaper and tried to put it on our cat
Sandra says
Lol, Elena! That is so funny! I can imagine the cat tried to run pretty quickly. ๐
Mary Happymommy says
I remember when my sons were newborns and they would pee straight up in the air when we opened their diapers to change them. We had to duck or get squirted!
Snug and fit diapers are important for the baby’s comfort and leak protection.
Laura Jacobson says
Oh my most memorable diaper story was when we put a swim diaper on Carter instead of a regular one! We were wondering why he was soaked after dinner and the highchair was all wet! Then we realized we put on a swim diaper instead! We had to laugh! ๐
Snug and fit is so important to us! I remember one time we went to the zoo with a cheaper brand of diapers….and went thru 5 diapers in a couple hours and had to leave cause he leaked thru 2 outfits and we had no more with us! Snug and fit is so important!!!
steph says
snug and fit is important to me because my baby is a wiggleworm!!
Darlene Sullins says
Well, it was my daughters naptime, the eldest already asleep, so I went to my room to catch up on some scrapbooking while my youngest was playing with toys in the other room. Than it got quiet. REALLY quiet. When a child gets quiet, as a parent you KNOW that something is up. So when I got up and went to the other room, can you guess what I saw? My daughter and poop everywhere!!!! Face paint galore! ALL over her toys, ALL over the netting in her playpen, just EVERYWHERE! It was a bad wet kind, so you can imagine the smell… Worst. Clean-up. EVER!
Sandra says
Yikes, Darlene! ๐ I can imagine that it was definitely the worst clean-up ever.
Debra Pauley says
my worst clean up ever was on an airplane going to visit grandma and grandpa.
Sandra says
With those small seats, I can imagine it’s really hard to change a diaper on an airplane. ๐
lizzy says
The last time we went on a long car trip, my sons diaper leaked through and got all in his car seat. I felt so bad for him!
Jennifer Marie says
My son’s diaper exploded at a restaurant once and there wasn’t a changing table. I had to change his diaper on the floor. Snug fit is improtant so you do not get leaking on your work clothes like I did before.
courtney b says
being snug and fit is important because you don’t want an embarrassing leak!
Wild Orchid says
I remember when my son was very he was obsessed with the vacuum cleaner. He loved pushing it around and would get so upset when it was time to put it away!
Snug and fit is super important to prevent unfortunate leaks and messes.

One time my husband was carrying our daughter through Target and when we got to the car my husband realized her diaper had leaked all over his shirt. It was quite a mess.
Karla Ferrero says
I was changing my nephew, who was 6 months at the time, on my recliner. I turned to get a wipey and when I turned back his face was all wet. Apparently he had peed in his little face eep!! He was a good shot too because he got the back of my seat nice and wet! Lol.
To be honest I would rather have a snug and fit diaper on my baby rather than a loose and saggy one. We r trying to keep the mess at a minimum ๐
Sandra says
Oh, Karla! With boys, I’ve had similar experiences. Lol! ๐
Tammy S says
I remember once when we were at my sister wedding and my daughter looked so cute in her fancy dress. We were at the reception and she was running around and I noticed that she had yanked off her diaper and was running with it in her hand. I though I would die of embarrassment.
Rochel S says
Snug and fit is so important especially when babyโs stomach is not too happy and it tends to get EVERYWHERE!
Sandra says
Yes, Rochel, I can definitely relate! It seems to get everywhere…
Jenn McClearn says
my favorite diaper moment was experiencing our first EBF poop it went everywhere! but we were so happy he finally pooped we called our parents ala Bill Cosby “he made the poopy”
Kimberly says
Being snug and fit is important… Our first accident was in the car seat!!! It was a hot mess!!!
Natasha Rodriguez says
So far with baby number 3 we have not had any blow outs but yesterday we did for get a change of clothes for our potty training 3 year old when she said she had to poo she actually threw up and I am not sure which is worse!
Sandra says
That’s horrible, Natasha! I love that we can laugh at these adventures with our kids later. Lol! ๐
Amanda Sakovitz says
i had to use a makeshift diaper one time out of a towel. being snug and fit is important for comfort and leakage protection
Hannah says
When she decided to run outside with NO diaper! O.o. ๐ These would be wonderful! ๐
Lucy says
I knew my young toddler was taking a poo one night while I cleaned up the kitchen, but I wasn’t paying too much attention. He was toddling around for quite a few minutes, doing his business, before I finished wiping down the kitchen and went to change him. He had had a blowout and there was poop ALL over the house, from the living room all the way down the hall to the bedrooms. It took quite a while to clean up the mess, and we both needed a bath afterwards! Needless to say, snug and fit is SO important–no one wants to clean up a poopy house!
Sandra says
Ahhhh!!!!!!! That’s crazy, Lucy! And I’m sure that’s an adventure you’ll never forget. ๐
Thomas Murphy says
My favorite diaper moment was the first time I changed my son. It took me about 15 minutes because I was scared I was going to put it on wrong. A snug diaper is important because I can’t stand when babies have diapers that are practically falling off them. I doubt thats too comfortable or effective.
Brandi F says
Every day is an adventure of some sort! I love Huggies snug and fit diapers because they really do help you manage any adventure life throws your way. No worries about unexpected leaks at inopportune times!
Harmony B says
After 3 boys and numerous diaper blow outs a snug fit is very important
Megan says
Well so far no funny adventures. We’re expecting our first baby next month, but I am sure there will be plenty as we figure out diapering.
Sandra says
Congratulations, Megan! And, yes, I’m sure you will have tons of diaper adventures. ๐
