Last week was ‘Conference Recovery Week’ for me.
This week, I’ve started an improved work schedule, and it’s going great. I’ve also taken on quite a bit more work, so this new schedule is much needed. Besides a changed work schedule, I’m in the process of looking for a virtual assistant to work with. I know once I find the right person, my workload will feel a little lighter.
I’m looking forward to that.
Anyway, I managed to accomplish some of my goals last week:
Family/Mothering Goals:
1. Take Breanna to get her hair cut — I have it on the calendar for this Friday.
2.
Plan which days I’ll cook with the kids in JulyPersonal Goals:
3. Drink juice or smoothies 5 days this week — I think I managed to drink juice/smoothies 4 days last week.
4.
Read 10 pages of the book Desperate5. Walk on the treadmill for 2 hours — I’m struggling with getting on the treadmill. If I don’t get on before my baby girl wakes up, then she wants to join me. In the past, I’ve used a baby carrier to ‘wear’ her while I walk. She doesn’t seem to really enjoy it, though, so I didn’t even try last week and logged 0 minutes on the treadmill.
Home Management Goals:
6.
Clean the master bedroom— Yay! Got this done, and my husband was happy and surprised to see that I was cleaning our bedroom! π7.
Unpack our suitcases from the trip to Ohio— Ruben unpacked our suitcases before I could even get to them (which probably would’ve been Sunday night), so it’s done.Business Goals:
8. Get caught up on work — I’m still working on this…
9.

What are your goals for this week?

I can relate to you needing to get your exercise out of the way before the baby gets up. Most morning I get up before anyone else and get my exercising out of the way right away. There was two days during my husband’s vacation time that I slept in and then when I went to exercise my son joined in with me. It was alright but I had to be careful as he almost knocked me over twice while I was exercising. His exercising can be a little wild.
I hope you have a great week and find a good VA to work with.

Hi Shelly, that’s so funny, and your son sounds a lot like my 6-year-old. π I’m still working on getting up before the baby. We co-sleep, so it’s a little more difficult than if she slept in a crib.
I think I’ve found the right person to work with here on The Sensible Mom. I’m interviewing her next week, and I’m looking forward to this new chapter. π

With both my kids we co-slept so I know it’s more difficult to get up and away without waking the little one up. Maybe you could get some walking in while out at the library each day. A few laps around the parking lot while your older kids work on their schoolwork? I used to mall walk with a friend when my daughter was small. She didn’t mind riding in the stroller so we could walk for about an hour. But there is a temptation to shop at the mall.

Thanks for the tips, Shelly! I have thought about how to get in some exercise while I’m at the library. I wish there were treadmills in the rooms there, because then I could walk and work – without having my baby girl try to join me. π
