Even though I set goals late last week, I didn’t do all that bad getting things crossed off my list.
It helped that we spent most of the weekend at home. We did have a long day away on Friday, because we had to drive to Chicago for a regular appointment with David’s stem cell doctor. We ran a few errands on the way home, but didn’t get to everything we’d hoped to before traffic and hunger started to get the best of us. ๐
Then onย Sunday, we went out to shop for groceries and things we need for our upcoming trip to Florida for David’s wish. But other than that, I spent the rest of the weekend planning, cooking, cleaning, watching movies, and eating.
Here’s what I accomplished last week:
Family/Mothering Goals:
1.
Continue to work on memorizing two verses of scripture as a family2. Make zucchini muffins — I ran into a few problems with the zucchini. First, it seems they froze having been in a bag towards the back of the refrigerator. I noticed that some of the pre-made mashed sweet potatoes I’d put in bowls for later also had icicles on them, so we obviously needed to adjust them temperature of the fridge. ๐
Anyway, I had set the zucchini out to thaw, and afterwards, they just didn’t look good. So I decided not to make zucchini muffins after all!
Personal Goals:
3.
Read 20 pages ofย Virtual Freedomย (affiliate link)ย by Chris Ducker4.
Walk a total of 60 minutes on the treadmill5.
Read 20 pages of The Hobbit (affiliate link) by J.R.R. Tolkein6. Go to bed by 11:00pm the rest of this week — Oh man. I failed miserably at getting to bed by 11:00pm, but I am going to bed earlier overall. I’m also getting up earlier, which is my ultimate goal. I want to get to bed at a reasonable time, so that I can be up and ready before most of the kids are up.

7.ย
Clean bathrooms8.
Finish homeschool planningBusiness Goals:
9.

What are your goals for this week?
Shelly says
That’s a bummer about the zucchini. I have lost a few salads recently to the same thing. It seems my son loves to play with the electronic controls on the front of the refrigerator and tends to decrease the temperature on me. I’ve been checking it more often so hopefully it won’t happen again.
I hope you have a great week this week.

Boys…they keep things very interesting. ๐
I hope you have a great week, too, Shelly!
Lydia @ Not Afraid of the Snow says
You did great with your goals for not getting them up for a while!
I would love to see a post about how you use google calendar to make a schedule to work for you. Obviously, you make it work!
Hope you have another great week, Sandra!
Sandra says
Thanks, Lydia! I will try to get a post about how I use Google Calendar written in the next month or so. ๐
Erin @ My Mommy World says
Looks like you had a great week!
We had our annual first day of school moms get-together this morning and I saw the nurse from the NIH who I talked to last year about David. I filled her in on his great progress so far and she was so thrilled that he was doing so well ๐ I was so happy to give her the good news, since I hadn’t seen her for many, many months.
Have a great week!
Sandra says
Oh, thank you for letting her know how David is doing, Erin! ๐ You know, I’ve learned so much more about NIH since last year, and I’m thankful for what the doctors there are doing to help improve treatment for people with aplastic anemia.
