Because I added my goals to my Google Calendar last week, I was able to cross almost everything off my list.
The only thing I didn’t do well was get up before my children, but I have excuses. See below. ๐
Here’s what I accomplished last week:
Family/Mothering Goals:
1.
Continue to work on memorizing two verses of scripture as a family— We’re working on Proverbs 20:11 and Exodus 20:12.2.
Plan a fun Family DayPersonal Goals:
3.
Do resistance band exercises 3x4.
Walk a total of 70 minutes on the treadmill5.
Read 20 pages of The Hobbit (affiliate link) by J.R.R. Tolkein6. Get up by 6:00am every morning — Once again, I didn’t do well in this area. I woke up at 6:00am ONE DAY last week. That is all. To throw in a few excuses…we’ve been sick with what seems to be two separate illnesses, and my three youngest kids have been hanging out/sleeping in my bed in the morning, which makes it harder to get up and start my day. ๐
Home Management Goals:
7.
Sewย button8.ย
Clean bathroomsBusiness Goals:

Film a DIY video10.

Ok, looking around your site, I am sort of in AWE of you! You have so many skill that I’m constantly trying to work on: exercising, WordPress design, home schooling 5! I wanted to follow you on more socials, but Facebook is slooooooow for me today. I am following you on Twitter now. So impressed!

Hi April! Please do not be an awe of me. I’m just a regular wife and mother trying to do what’s best for my family and myself. ๐
Thanks for stopping by.
Erin @ My Mommy World says
You are such a nice mom to let your kids sleep in your bed…I can’t sleep with kids in my bed!
Hope you have a great week Sandra!
Sandra says
Hi Erin! Oh man, I’m looking forward to the day when I don’t have any kids sleeping in my bed, but for now, I’m going to continue to count it as a blessing of sorts. ๐ My daughter still sleeps in my bed pretty much every night. She’s two.
We’ve always been a co-sleeping family, and because of that…my two little boys also end up sleeping in my room or bed at some point at least a few times a week.

Hello! The goal idea is really cool. I followed the link to your page from moneysavingmom.com. What I’m wondering is: How did you decide what categories to make goals in or how to simplify down your goals? I always have WAY too many things I hope to do and lose sight of goal-setting from time to time when I can never finish my to-do list.
Sandra says
Hi Kara! I believe in setting smalls goals to achieve big results later on down the line. For example, I set a weekly goal to read. By doing this, I actually read through entire books. ๐
I set family goals, because I want to be intentional about how I spend time with my husband and children.
Some goals like home management goals just come to me throughout the week. I realize that something needs to be cleaned, etc…and I’ll set a goal to make it happen.
I feel like doing things this way keeps me moving forward and makes me a better wife and mom.

I started to read and got super curious about what your excuses were going to be! Worthwhile excuse if you ask me.
Pictures! I need to get on top of doing something with all our pictures. I have them on jump drives right now. And some on a scan disc that I need to move. Not sure that is the best way. Are you a fan of the external hard drive?
Sandra says
Hi Lydia! I’m a big fan of using an external hard drive, because pictures and especially movies take up a lot of space on your computer.
My laptop has been so full at some points that it’s actually prevented me from opening some applications. ๐
