I did pretty well with tackling most of my goals last week.
And I’ve decided that since things are going well with filming and editing videos, I’m ready to step waaaaaayyy out of my comfort zone and create a vlog of our family of seven.
Ruben (my husband) and I are still discussing and praying about the whole idea of vlogging on a regular basis, so things aren’t set in stone. But if all goes well and it doesn’t seem like a ton of extra work, I may make a family vlog a regular feature on my YouTube channel. π
We’ll see…
And here’s what I accomplished last week:
Family/Mothering Goals:
1.
Continue to work on memorizing two verses of scripture as a family2.Β
Plan a fun family outing for the end of the monthPersonal Goals:
3.
Do resistance band exercises 4x4.
Walk a total of 200 minutes on the treadmill5. Read 20 pages of The Lord of the Rings (Part One) The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien
6.
Journal 2xHome Management Goals:
7.
Unpack one old, worn out box of ‘stuff’ in the basement and place stuff in a new box— My husband helped me out with this goal and did a good amount of unpacking and repacking, so I’m counting that. π8.
Fill one bag with items to donateBusiness Goals:
9.Β Shoot, edit & upload a video on how to make a honey sugar facial scrub — Well, I did shoot this video, but I’ve yet to edit & upload it. That’s coming soon!
10.Β Shoot, edit & upload four videos toΒ our family YouTube channel. — We actually filmed five videos, but so far, I’ve only edited & uploaded three of them.
Here are my goals for this week:
Family/Mothering Goals:
1. Continue to work on memorizing two verses of scripture as a family
2.Β Create a list of chores and how much they’re “worth” in terms of game time — For example, right now I have my 14-year-old son unload the dishwasher, rinse the dishes again (we have hard water and to make a long story short…the dishes usually need to be rinsed again once they’ve gone through the dishwasher), dry them with a towel, and put them away. Then he reloads the dishwasher with the dirty dishes that are in the sink. For tackling this chore, he earns 40 minutes of game time. For something like emptying the recycling can, he earns 5 minutes.
Personal Goals:
3. Do resistance band exercises 4x
4. Walk a total of 200 minutes on the treadmill
5. Read 10 pages of The Lord of the Rings (Part One) The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien
6. Journal 2x
Home Management Goals:
7. De-clutter one corner of our home
8. Fill one bag with items to donate
Business Goals:
9. Edit, upload, & post a video on how to make a honey sugar facial scrub
10.Β Shoot, edit, & upload a family vlog
What are your goals for this week?
Shelly says
Sandra, you did a great job on your goals from last week. Way to go! I was able to shoot, edit and upload one video this week. I don’t know how often I’ll get to doing one but I’m hoping one or two a month. At least it will be better than the hit or miss I used to do.
I’m looking forward to your first family vlog.
Sandra says
Thank you, Shelly! And way to go on getting another video on YouTube! π

I hope you have a great week too, Lydia! And thanks for the encouragement on the vlogs. I’m still not so sure and feeling a little scared about my first one. Lol
