I overcame my fear of vlogging today. Although, I do think you can hear a little uncertainty in my voice. π
But even so, I made it through one video and found out that it was easier than I thought it would be. I do use the word “um” quite a lot, though. And I didn’t realize that until I started watching the videos. I’m going to work on not using that word so much in the next video.
There’s that, and when I was watching the videos at home, I realized that Elisabeth’s car seat strap wasn’t totally right. She likes to adjust her own straps so that she’s comfortable, but sometimes she overdoes it.
Here’s the video:
By the way, we’ve decided to name these video blogs our “Blessed Seven” vlogs. We chose this name because there are seven of us, and we’re very blessed. π
We thought about naming it “Our Happy Seven” but felt that “Blessed Seven” was more true to life.

Hi Rhonda! π It’s so good to hear from you, friend! We are very thankful that David is doing so well, and we’re looking forward to getting out of the house more and being able to record more videos now that he’s off his medications.
Thank you for the encouragement! I hope you and your family are doing well!

How fun to meet your whole family! I think that simple little treats like breakfast in the drive through is so much fun for kids π
I totally sympathize with you being nervous to vlog. When I have to make a video, I practice it all out in advance and sound normal, but when that little red light is on, I get all weirdly nervous and you can tell it in my voice. I guess we just have to practice more often with video π

Hi Erin! I’m so glad that recording the video turned out to be easier than I thought it would be, but yes, I was still not totally confident of myself in front of the camera. I’m sure as we record more vlogs, my voice will lose that hint of nervousness. Lol
I hope you and your family have a great weekend! π

As you were sharing about keeping David safe from germs, I could so relate. Our lives are like yours, thinking about staying away from people who are ill so the kids can stay healthy.
Last night I received an email from a friend from church letting us know that this week probably wouldn’t be a good week to attend, since there is a cold going around the church. I love that we have friends that understand us and look out for us. Lucky for us we can listen to the sermon online, so we only miss being there in person to visit with others. But we still get to hear the sermon at home.
I’m trying to get one to two videos done a month, so I can get more used to being in front of the camera. I think letting go of thinking it needs to be perfect helps. I love how there is noise in the background and your youngest ran through. Its real life and I think that makes it more fun to watch.

Hi Shelly! I know that you understand the precautions we’ve had to take for David. What a blessing it is to have friends who can give you a heads-up and let you know when your kids may be at risk for having a sickness passed to them. And, yes, I love listening to sermons at home, too. π Our own church has wonderful pastors, and there are some biblical pastors that we listen to online – like John MacArthur and R.C. Sproul.
I agree that getting in front of the camera more often makes creating videos easier. While I still mess up a lot and forgot what I wanted to say, things are getting better!
