So right now my kids are playing with water balloons in the house. ๐
I gave them each two balloons and a towel and told them to play and see how long they can make them last before they pop. All this because we have neighbors who like to let their dog run loose outside. It seems we can’t escape these types of neighbors.
Oh well!
On the plus side, the kids are having a lot of fun, they’re using their imaginations, and I crossed off all my goals for last week.

What are your goals for this week?
Shelly says
I’m sorry to hear your kids can’t play outside because of loose neighborhood dogs. It is not responsible for dog owners to let the dogs run the street. Do you have animal control you can call and have them address it.
I know the rental house next door to us, used to have a family with two pit bulls that would growl and dig and hit the fence every time we tried to do something outside. It was a long year while they lived next to us. Now the owners of that house live there and it’s much nicer.
I’m glad to hear your kids were able to have fun indoors. ๐ Good job on your goals. I hope you have a great week.

Hi, Shelly! I don’t want to ruffle any feathers just yet with our neighbors, so at the moment, if the dog(s) are loose, we just stay inside. This neighborhood is actually better than our last neighborhood where playing in the backyard was literally off limits because of the irresponsibility of SO MANY people in our neighborhood.
Crazy, because these are “nice” neighborhoods, but people still think they have the right to let their dogs run loose. It’s annoying.
Someday, we’re hoping to have a fenced yard to avoid these issues. ๐
Lydia @ Not Afraid of the Snow says
How fun with the balloons! I love that creativity on your part and the fact that they loved it. It has been so rainy here that we really haven’t been able to get outside much. One of these days we will!
Hope you have another great week of getting your goals done!
Sandra says
Thanks, Lydia! The kids loved playing with the balloons, and we even ended up putting Shokins toys in a few of them so that they could see them floating around in the water inside. LOL – And two of the kids have decided to save their water balloons and haven’t popped them in the bath tub yet.
Erin @ My Mommy World says
Oh dear, you are a brave mom! I would freak out if my kids wanted to play water balloons in the house ๐
Hope you have a great week (and can stay dry!) ๐
Sandra says
Hi, Erin! The water balloons were actually my idea. ๐ I was bummed that we had to come inside so soon after going out, so I tried to think of something fun for them to do and remembered that my husband had gotten a water balloon kit at the store a while back.
I hope you have a great week, too!
