I worked in collaboration with KeyLime Cove on this blog post. They provided us with a free one-night stay in a beautiful Toucan Suite, water park passes, and a $50 voucher. Our family of seven has lived in Illinois nearly all of our lives.
In fact, Ruben, me, and our five kids were all born here…in the same town.
It’s true. 🙂
And because we’ve grown up, lived, and worked in Illinois for so long, we’ve been to many of the places located throughout this fabulous state.
But one place we’d yet to visit was KeyLime Cove — Chicagoland’s largest indoor waterpark resort!
We recently had an opportunity to stay at the resort in one of their beautiful two-bedroom Toucan suites, and we had an amazing time. I vlogged our little trip there and back home, so you can get a feel for what it’s like and also check out the inside of a Toucan suite.
It’s roomy and spacious enough to fit our family of seven.

Things We Loved About KeyLime Cove
We can’t wait for another chance to go back to KeyLime Cove and, hopefully, be able to spend at least two or three nights there. My kids didn’t want the fun to end so soon and kept asking if we could stay longer. They loved the whole experience.
We all did. 🙂
Fun Facts About KeyLime Cove:
- It uses a state-of-the-art ozone disinfection system which provides impeccable water quality and clarity.
- The pH value of the water is the same as a human teardrop.
- Air is refreshed every 20 minutes during the hours of operation.
- Pineapple Splash Bucket is 10 feet tall and holds 250 gallons of water.
- Maximum occupancy of the waterpark is 1,476 guests.
Besides the waterpark, I know they enjoyed spending time at the RipTide Reef Arcade, which happened to have fun rides and games for all of the kids.
Before we headed home on the second day, we took some time to walk around KeyLime Cove and take pictures. I love the fun theming they’ve got going on!
It’s everywhere and really makes you feel like you’re on vacation.
Overall, the KeyLime Cove Indoor Waterpark Resort turned out to be a place we can’t wait to experience again someday.

It’s funny you should mention your whole family was born in the same town. That is the same for our family too. In fact my husband and myself were born at the same hospital 18 months almost to the day apart. But my husband’s family moved away when he was just 4 months old to go live near family in California. But we still ended up going to the same high school years later.
We haven’t been to a water park before but we have a few locally. Maybe someday we will get out to one. The KeyLime Cove looks like a lot of fun.

Wow, that looks like a really fun place to visit! We have a very small indoor water park here where we live…it’s not even really a park, just a pool with two giant water slides and another regular pool…but I absolutely hate going there because the air inside the facility is so thick with stinky chlorine that it’s hard to breathe. We’ve been to two parties there and both times I couldn’t wait to get out! So reading about Key Lime Cove’s air quality really hit a nerve with me…I would appreciate being able to enjoy myself there without breathing in toxic chemicals!
I know that you mean about bad air quality with some indoor pools, Erin. My kids used to take swim classes at our (then) local park district, and they put so many chemicals in the water that the air was just difficult to be in for long periods of time. Breathing in that air for 20 or 30 minutes was enough to give me a headache or make me nauseous.
It wasn’t that way AT ALL at KeyLime Cove. 🙂 We were in the pool for hours without any issues.

My husband isn’t a big fan of swimming, so maybe someday I will be able to convince him to do something like this, but not holding my breath!
Hi Lydia! Yes, I was very excited to have the opportunity to work with KeyLime Cove, because resort/hotel rooms for a family of our size is typically very expensive, so having that taken care of was fantastic. 🙂
The whole experience made for some great family memories, and my daughter keeps watching the vlogs over and over. LOL
