Here are my goals for this week:
Family/Mothering Goals:
1. Continue to work on memorizing two verses of scripture as a family
2.ย Make a list of things each child needs…new socks, shorts, etc…
Personal Goals:
3.ย Track what I’m eating with the My Fitness Pal app — Now that my extended breastfeeding journey is finally over, I’m ready to get serious about losing weight again. I truly believe (after reading information online and comments from many, many other moms in forums, etc…) that my “breastfeeding hormones” were keepingย me from really being able to lose weight. I’ve been stuck around the same weight for a very long time, but now that my hormones are working on returning to normal (although they were a MESS during the weaning process), my body should start working normally again. And I couldn’t be happier about that. ๐
4. Walk a total of 260 minutes on the treadmill
5.ย Read at least 5 pages from each of these books: Toward a Growing Marriage by Gary Chapman, Be the Best Mom You Can Be by Marina Slayton, and Influencer Marketing for Dummies

7. Tidy up our master bedroom — My husband recently rearranged the room, and there are odds and ends that need to be cleaned up and organized again.
8.ย Fill a bag with items to donate

What are your goals for this week?
lisa says
I accomplished most of my goals from last week. I’m still decluttering and donated 2 bags of items. We didn’t do anything fun for Spring Break except go to the mall. DH had gift cards from his birthday and wanted to use them…. Overall, a pretty uneventful week.
My goals this week:
1)Make and freeze items for the church bake sale as time permits.
2) Keep decluttering. And donating.
3)Make juice from the oranges and apples for DS#2. Before they expire.
4)Make banana bread. As they are getting overripe and tasty.
5) Keep tweaking a bread recipe until it comes out fluffy and crusty. Maybe add herbs.
6)Return the Netflix DVD. Since nobody will watch a 1950’s movie.
7)Call SIL and see how she’s doing.
8) Thank God everyday.
9) Remember your appointments on Thursday and Friday! I forget everything…..
10)Try baking beer pretzels.

Hi, Lisa! It sounds like you did a great job on your goals last week. We’re having our spring break this week, and we’re mostly just staying home and that is perfectly fine with us. ๐ We’ve had a somewhat busy March, and I’m ready to just be home more for a while.
You’ve got a lot of good goals planned for this week. Banana bread sounds good. ๐
I hope you and your family have a great rest of the week!

Good job on getting all your goals crossed off last week!
I wish you lots of success on your weight loss journey. I’ve recently lost about 30 pounds and it feels good to finally have that weight gone after so many years. I still have about 20 left to go, but I’m confident that I will finally reach my goal this summer.

Thank you, Erin! I’ve enjoyed following your weight loss journey. You’re doing such a great job, and you look fantastic! ๐

I have heard that so much that women who are breastfeeding can’t lose their baby weight. I have the opposite problem, I have to fight to keep it on. Weird that hormones affect everyone so differently. You have got this!
Curious what made you ever decide to start doing toy reviews on youtube?
Sandra says
It’s amazing how much control hormones have over our weight and our bodies in general. I know my hormones still aren’t normal since fully weaning Elisabeth about 10 days ago. I’m stilling dealing with mood swings (almost like post-partum depression), water retention/bloating, and yes, even weight gain. I know things will get better, though. Already, I no longer feel like I’m walking around with a rain cloud over my head, which is how I felt when we started to really work on weaning.
But anyway, I started doing toy reviews because my daughter actually started watching some toy reviews on YouTube and she LOVED them. They were fun, playful, and inspired her to use her imagination with her toys. After a while, I thought that maybe our family could have a toy channel where we all share in some way or another. We had a LEGO toy channel that we’d worked on a few years ago, but we had to let go when David was sick.
We decided that we didn’t want to start working on that channel again (LEGOs are quite expensive after all), but that we wanted to start a whole new channel where our family could share and so after praying…Fun Playtime Reviews was born. Plus, creating and editing toy videos (at that time) was much less time consuming than writing long blog posts that I could rarely find the time to write.
I’m looking forward to seeing the new videos you’ll be sharing on your channel. ๐

Great job on getting your goals crossed off this past week!
I hope you’ll have an easier time of releasing the weight now that you have discontinued nursing. I had the opposite reaction with my extended breastfeeding. As soon as I became pregnant the weight just started to come off and continued through breastfeeding. I lost 50 pounds with each pregnancy and breastfeeding. My doctor joked that I just needed to get pregnant about every 4 years I could easily maintain an ideal weight. ๐
But after I discontinued breastfeeding the weight came back. I’m working on making small changes each day to see if I get the extra weight off.
Sandra says
We are definitely opposites when it comes to weight loss with pregnancy and breastfeeding. ๐ I’m grateful that I was able to lose some weight after I gave birth to Elisabeth and during my earlier days of breastfeeding her. But then in 2013, the weight loss pretty much stopped no matter what I did, and since then I’ve hovered around the same weight for a good long while. I’m so ready for a change now, and I think my body is finally ready to cooperate, which is very encouraging.
