Thank you so much, Lydia! This month is just crazy and I’ll talk more later about why.

We focused on decluttering closets earlier in the week so that we could have room for new back to school clothes.
Our favorite kids shoe store closed without my knowing, so we had to find shoes somewhere else. Luckily my daughter liked a pair that was on clearance, so they were much cheaper than I was expecting!
Hope you have a great week!
Sandra says
Hi, Erin! I love it when we find shoes on clearance, too! I hope your kids have an easy transition back to school. π

I hope life doesn’t get too busy for you over the next few weeks.
I’m continuing to paint the outside of our home and working on getting my canning done. It seems like everything becomes ripe and ready to can all at the same time. I need to do pickles, peaches, applesauce, and pears. The pickles need to be done next before I can’t get them at the farmer stand. Then I’ll move onto the rest.
I hope you have a great week!

Well, I’ve been focusing my efforts on trying to think out of the box to save money on college. Our son’s bill came in at $65,000. For a YEAR. It’s not Med school or a elite school. Then other things came up..So, here’s what I did or plan to do in about a week’s time:
1)Saved $50,000 in a few hours. That bill mentioned above was due to a mis-classification. After speaking to many people, things got straightened out and we saved a TON of money.
2) Saved $3200 in ten minutes…That same college student chose a $3200 meal plan for a SEMESTER. Would $3200 worth of food be consumed in 4 months…NO? Then get rid of it! The dorm has a frig/freezer/microwave! Items from Costco will be purchased and a pre-filled debit card will be used for food.
3)Saved $1000 in an hour. I took my car in for a oil change. JUST a oil change. They said my back brakes needed to be replaced but to do that, they may as well replace all of them. My response? “That’s why i have front brakes!” I asked DH about my brakes and he said that if they don’t squeal or the brake pedal isn’t being pushed to the floor to stop, they’re lying…I mean, i only drive 2,000/miles a year. Really??
4) Saved $260 in twenty minutes. There are some cool toys on the market that are selling for $150 at Walmart. I got mine for $20 each on ebay. Brand spankin’ new Christmas toys for the kids. Yay!
5) A company sent me a full size bottle of shampoo to try out. I’ll report on it in 3 weeks. So far, so good.
5)The walnut tree in our backyard decided to produce this year. The nuts are falling and I need to clean them and dry them out. COOL.
6)Shop for a few school items. The youngest just needs t-shirts for school and he’s not picky. His pants/shorts/hoodies are in great condition.
7) Saved $100 on school sneakers. My size 13 shoe-wearing son is wearing leather basketball shoes that I spent $49 on. Thanks to ebay again! Shipping was free, too.
8) Having a garage sale at my job so i have to get things together for it.
9)Every week, I feed a family of 6 as Mom has Cancer. So, I meal plan and shop for it. Dad is gluten-free and i made scratch chocolate chip cookies for the first time that are gluten-free. They came out good.
10) Return an item to Target and pick up a dry clean shirt from the cleaners. I usually use a home dry clean kit but forgot that I even had it! UGH
