One of my goals last week was to create a DIY video tutorial. I decided to create a tutorial on how to make homemade deodorant. I hope you enjoy it!
Here is a link to the homemade deodorant recipe here on The Sensible Mom, so that you can print it out. The recipe here on the blog, though, does not include the Lavender essential oil. If you want to include that to your homemade deodorant like the video tutorial, just add in about 10 drops.
I’d love it if you would Subscribe to my YouTube Channel as well. Just go here and click on the Subscribe button. π I’m planning on creating a lot more DIY videos to share with you guys!
This blog post was originally published in 2012.

I really liked your video. You did a great job with it. I have yet to give homemade deodorant a try as I have so much of the store bought stuff right now. But I will be giving this recipe a try when I need some more instead of purchasing it from the store.

Hi Shelly! Thanks, and I can imagine that you have a lot of deodorant. π I remember when I couponed regularly…we had so much.

I loved this video Sandra! It’s good to know how to make your own personal care products at home…I never would have thought to make my own deodorant just a few months ago.

Thanks, Erin! Making your own homemade products would have been almost unthinkable to me a year ago…not so anymore! π I love being able to make our own at home. I just made a fresh pot of homemade hand soap yesterday.
I’m still struggling to find a good homemade toothpaste recipe. I’ve done lots of research and finally tried one, but I didn’t like it. I’m also trying to find a recipe that doesn’t include a lot of baking soda in the toothpaste.

It’s so funny you mention homemade toothpaste….I recently went to the dentist for my 6-month cleaning, and they told me that I was probably allergic to regular toothpaste because my gums were pretty red. They told me to use just plain baking soda, which I hated. They said I can try a natural toothpaste or Arm & Hammer baking soda toothpaste, but if I could find a good homemade recipe, I might try it out and see how it does π

Hi Erin, we use fluoride-free Tom’s of Maine. We actually took my son to the dermatologist yesterday for some skin issues, and she said that the toothpaste he should be using is Tom’s.
I was happy to be able to tell her that that is the brand we already use. My son has some skin issues on his face on the moment.
I would love to find a great homemade version, but it’s harder than I though it would be.
