Hello, April!
Is this year flying by or what? I like it, though. I’m looking forward to sunny days and warmer weather.
In our garage, my husband has already started planting and growing seeds for the garden. He has a nice set up with grow lights and he takes care of getting the plants started so that when the time comes, they can be transplanted outside to the garden beds. We’re going to try to grow Japanese sweet potatoes this year, which is pretty exciting!
I’m also looking forward to all the cucumbers, and we’re going to grow Brandywine tomatoes, which we’ve never grown in the past. But I heard from a mom on YouTube that they’re quite good so we’re going to give them a try.
Do you have a garden or are you growing anything this year? Even if it’s flowers, I’d love to hear about it in the comments below.
In addition to the vegetables, we also grow annual flowers like marigolds, and we have several types of perennials in our landscaping that we’re looking forward to coming back as well. We probably have at least 7 or 8 rose bushes, and they are my absolute favorites! They’re gorgeous and bloom all summer long.
Anyway, here are my goals for the next week or so:
Family/Mothering Goals:
1. Take Isaac out for a special meal — My husband and I started taking one of our kids out to eat for a special meal each week throughout the holidays and we’ve decided to continue in 2022. Isaac wants to go to City Barbeque. I typically get a kid’s meal that comes with a small drink, a sausage in a Texas toast bun, and a kids-sized portion of fries for $5. I really enjoy this meal and it’s enough food.
However, I want to get something healthier the next time we go, so I think I’m going to get either a side salad with a lite dressing and a Texas toast bun to go with it (no sausage!) for around $4.50 OR I may get their “Pick 3 sides” meal where I get to pick three sides for about $8. My three sides would be TWO side salads with lite dressing and ONE order of fries. I guess I’ll decide based on my appetite that day. π
2. Do driving lessons with Breanna at least twice – She’s making good progress and driving around our neighborhood now. On her last lessons, she did all the driving.
Personal Goals:
3. Lift hand weights 3 times
4. Walk at least 180 minutes — I plan to do this by walking on the treadmill and taking family walks outside on days when the weather is nice. The weather has been cold, windy, and gloomy lately and we even got snow over the weekend. LOL – Hopefully, it’ll start to warm up and rain less so that we can start getting outside more.
5. Read Bible
6. Journal twice
Home Management Goals:
7. Help Elisabeth organize her room
8. Fill a bag with items to donate
Business Goals:
9. Write a blog post
10. Edit and upload a video to my YouTube channel — Someday, I’d like to start sharing again on my YouTube channel. I’m honestly not in a rush but I still want to keep this as a goal for now. This is because I have a video that I have partially edited and I really need to finish it and just publish it.
