10 Goals to Tackle This Week

Well, the past few weeks have been rough. I ended up getting sick and that sickness turned into the worst bronchitis I’ve ever experienced. It was horrible, and I’m still not over the coughing portion of it. But, I’m feeling much better overall and finally feel mostly like my old self again…other than my cough that’s the worst in the morning and at night.

I’ve eaten around 100 cough drops, diffused essential oils, and generally just tried to survive with the help of my family. Thankfully, by God’s grace, I made it through this illness and hope to never go through anything like it again. It was awful! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Now that I’m feeling better and we’re pretty settled into our new home, I want to get back to setting goals and working toward them each week. I’m hoping to make updating my goals a weekly habit. We’ll see how it goes! ๐Ÿ™‚

Here are my goals for this week:

Family/Mothering Goals:

1. Take myย oldest son to pick out new frames and order glasses

2. Go outside with the kids at least 4 days this week

Personal Goals:

3. Email a friend

4. Walk a total of 120 minutes on the treadmill — We finally have a treadmill again! I’m so excited! It arrived in a huge box last Friday and my husband put it together that night. The kids have already started walking on it regularly without my prompting. We loved our old treadmill and literally used it to death. I’m glad to finally have a replacement.

5.ย Finish reading the book of Philippians in the New Testament and read Psalms 35 to 53 in the Old Testament

6. Journal 2x

Home Management Goals:

7. Unpack 2 boxes — We have ourย essentials all unpacked so I need to work on unpacking more of the boxes we took out of our storage unit. Thankfully, we were able to get everything in our storage unit moved over to our new home last month and we’re no longer paying for storage. Yay! For now, we put things from the storage unit in our garage, and I’m working on getting it put away, organized or donated from there.

8.ย Fill a bag with items to donate

Business Goals:

9. Shoot, edit, & upload at least one new videoย toย our family YouTube channel

10. Shoot, edit, & upload at least one new video to my YouTube channel

How I Simplify Life with Ivory and Spend More Time with My Family

Almost two years ago, my husband and I decided that we wanted to simplify our lives and spend more time together as a family.

In order to do that, we made some pretty radical decisions like moving out of our home, selling many of our possessions, buying an RV, and heading to Florida for a fun adventure that brought ourย family closer together in so many ways! We lived simply and focused on the important things in life like talking to our kids and teaching them life lessons that’ll help them succeed.

Today, we no longer live in an RVย but living that way for the time we did made us realize that when we went back to living in a “regular” home, we still wanted to live simply and small.

So when we went searching for the right home for our family to purchase, we decided on a 1265ย sq. foot home for our family of seven. And guess what? We love it!

The simple life is for us all the way. Plus, living in a small home (just like living in a tiny RV) means that I have less to clean, less clutter, and less money flying out of my pocket because living simply costs less.

More Practical Ways I Simplify Life

Other ways I choose to live simply have to do with my wardrobe, meals, and household products. Basically, I keep a minimal capsule wardrobe, feed my family tasty yet easy-to-prepare meals, and choose household products that are good for my whole family.

Ivory Soap

One product, in particular, that I love is Ivory soap. We use both Ivory bar soap and body wash that are free of dyes and heavy perfumes because they’re gentle and pure enough for everyone in my family to use.

DID YOU KNOW? Ivory has been making soap for over 130 years and continues to use only pure and purposeful ingredients in their products.

So while their packaging is new, sophisticated, and cute, their product remains the same.

Another thing I love about Ivory is that they get my desire to simplify life.

They understand that my family and so many others want to spend more time focusing on the important things in life, so they create products that give us peace of mind and allow us to pay more attention to what matters most.
