10 Goals for the Week

I crossed everything off of my list of goals for last week. Yay!

This week is going to be slightly busier than usual, and if you watch my vlogs, you’ll get to see what we’re up to because I’m planning on filming some of it.

By the way, even though I don’t have thousands of views on my vlogs, it’s hard to express how thankful I am that we have those videos to look back at over and over (and over!) again, because we took the time to film little pieces of our lives here and there. And then momma took the time to edit those videos and turn them into a story about our day. 😉

My kids love watching the vlogs, and I do, too.

Anyway…here’s what I accomplished last week:

Family/Mothering Goals:

1. ~~Continue to work on memorizing two verses of scripture as a family~~

2. ~~Read to my children 5x~~

Personal Goals:

3. ~~Do resistance band exercises 4x~~

4. ~~Walk a total of 100 minutes on the treadmill~~

5. ~~Read 10 pages of The Lord of the Rings (Part One) The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien~~

6. ~~Journal 2x~~

Home Management Goals:

7. ~~Finish sewing things in our home that need it~~

8. ~~Fill one bag with items to donate~~

Business Goals:

9. ~~Shoot, edit, & upload one new video to~~ ~~our family YouTube channel~~

10. ~~Shoot, edit, & upload one~~ ~~family vlog~~

Here are my goals for this week:

Family/Mothering Goals:

1. Continue to work on memorizing two verses of scripture as a family

2. Read to my children 5x

Personal Goals:

3. Do resistance band exercises 4x

4. Walk a total of 100 minutes on the treadmill

5. Read 10 pages of The Lord of the Rings (Part One) The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien

6. Journal 2x

Home Management Goals:

7. Buy school supplies for the upcoming school year

8. Clean and organize Elisabeth’s Play-Doh area

Business Goals:

9. Shoot, edit, & upload one new video to our family YouTube channel

10. Shoot, edit, & upload one family vlog

Family Dollar’s Just Add Family Event, Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs AND a Giveaway for $25 Family Dollar Gift Cards (4 Winners!)

And family memories are treasures that last forever, which is why Family Dollar held its national “Just Add Family” contest this year. They wanted to give one amazing family the opportunity to receive an all expense paid family reunion for up to 100 guests! The winning family would also receive a year’s worth of free groceries from Family Dollar. How fantastic is that? 🙂

In case you missed it, the “Just Add Family” contest winner was recently selected from thousands of online entries, and the winning family was the Williams family of Chicago! They received the Ultimate Family Reunion with Celebrity Chef Pat Neely at Washington Park in Chicago on Saturday, July 11th.

The Food Network Star, Pat Neely, surprised the Williams Family on July 9th at their home, and the Just Add Family reunion took place two days later with Chef Pat Neely serving as grill master!

Because what’s a family reunion without good food, right? 😉

Grilled Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs

One of the recipes Pat made for hungry guests was his classic grilled bacon wrapped hot dogs.

I recently created that recipe at home for my own family, and they loved it! Hot dogs are one of those super easy foods to grill, and adding the bacon and cheese only takes a small amount of extra effort that’s definitely worth it.

Here’s the recipe for Pat’s bacon wrapped hot dogs:

Pat’s Grilled Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs

Ingredients

6 hot dogs
3 slices of bacon cut in half
6 hot dog buns
6 slices of Kraft cheese
black pepper
condiments of your liking (such as mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, and pickle relish)

Instructions

Preheat grill to medium heat using Hickory and Charcoal chips. Carefully wrap each slice of bacon around individual hot dogs. Cooking tip: Use wet toothpicks to hold bacon in place. Sprinkle with black pepper.
Place hot dogs directly over charcoals on grill for 3-5 minutes. Cook until bacon becomes crisp and hot dogs become plump. Place hot dog buns on grill face down to toast. Fold cheese in half and place over hot dog on grill for last 30 seconds of cooking. Remove buns and dress with condiments of your liking. Place hot dogs onto buns.

Overall, the Just Add Family reunion with the Williams family was a huge success! They celebrated their time together, ate delicious food, and strengthened family bonds while creating memories they will never forget!

Chuck E. Cheese Food and Family Time (Blessed Seven Vlog)

Hi, guys! In this vlog, we visit a Toys “R” Us store, then head to Chicago to try out the new Chuck E. Cheese menu and have some fun!

10 Goals for the Week

I’m not sure what I was thinking when I thought I could continue to film, edit, and upload videos without much change in frequency even though my laptop is dead.

Seriously. I should’ve thought about the fact my husband’s computer isn’t mobile. It stays put, and it can’t travel with me from room to room so that I can work on editing videos around whatever the kids are doing. I also should’ve remembered that Ruben likes to use his computer after the kids go to bed, so trying to edit videos at that time doesn’t make sense anymore.

Soooooo…because my laptop won’t be fixed until next month, I’m going to be realistic about my YouTube goals. 🙂

Here’s what I accomplished last week:

5. ~~Read 10 pages of The Lord of the Rings (Part One) The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien~~ — I’ve been using the Habit Streak Pro app to remind myself to read a little each day, and because of that, I’ve been consistently reading more than 10 pages per week, which means I could actually finish this book before the end of the year! 😉

6. ~~Journal 2x~~

Home Management Goals:

7. Sew a few things in our home that need it — I sewed one pair of pants, but I didn’t get to everything.

8. ~~Wash my makeup brushes~~

Business Goals:

9. Shoot, edit, & upload three videos to our family YouTube channel — By the end of the week, we had our three videos, but I wasn’t able to edit and upload them all.

10. Shoot, edit, & upload two family vlogs — I filmed two vlogs, but I didn’t get them edited and uploaded.
