The Latest YouTube Videos on Fun Playtime Reviews

I missed posting the videos we uploaded last week, so this week, I’m sharing those and the one video I’ve uploaded so far. I have a goal to upload a total of four videos this week.

I’m a little behind. 😉

Before I get to the videos, here are a few YouTube-related things I’ve observed:

YouTube is always changing, but I think the changes that YouTube makes tend to be for the better. This is unlike ~~facebook~~ another social media network that will remain nameless.
I used to upload my videos directly to YouTube via iMovie, but now, I upload them directly to YouTube via their upload tool. I think this way is better because then I can make sure my video is optimized for search before it goes live.
It takes A LOT of time and effort to grow a YouTube channel, but as long as you enjoy the videos you create, it’s worth it! 🙂

Family Time at Chuck E. Cheese (Blessed Seven – Vlog #2)

Okay, so we tackled Chuck E. Cheese in this week’s family vlog.

I explain the reason why we were going to Chuck E. Cheese in the video, but I’ll share a little bit more of the story here. 🙂

First, David is now 100% free of all medications. Praise the Lord! He is no longer taking that gross, glue-smelling, hair-growth-inducing immune suppression medication, Cyclosporine. He started taking that drug in October of 2013, and he’s finally off of it.

It was weird for David to no longer have to force down that med, and he told me he thought he’d always have to take it. He never thought he’d be free of it, but, by God’s grace, he is. This makes me cry tears of joy!

Because David’s immune system is no longer being suppressed by drugs, we feel more comfortable about going out in public, and we’re planning to start spending a little more time out of the house. We’re not going to go crazy or anything, but we don’t feel like we need to stay home as much as we have the last year and a half.

We also chose to go to Chuck E. Cheese because when David was in the hospital for his bone marrow transplant in December of 2013, my mom’s nursing friends all got together and blessed us with cards and a Chuck E. Cheese gift card.

When I saw the gift card, I was very thankful, but I knew that we wouldn’t be able to use it for a loooooonnnnngggg time. 😉

Fast forward to March of 2015, and Ruben and I finally felt like it was safe to take David into our local Chuck E. Cheese.

And we had a great time!

I’m planning on filming another vlog on either Friday or Sunday of this week, and I’ll post it here when I can.

10 Goals for the Week

I crossed everything off of my list of goals for last week. Yay!

I think developing a system for having my kids help out more with chores around the house is making a big difference in how much time I have to focus on other areas. 🙂

Here’s what I accomplished last week:

Family/Mothering Goals:

1. ~~Continue to work on memorizing two verses of scripture as a family~~

2. Create a list of chores and how much they’re “worth” in terms of game time — For example, right now I have my 14-year-old son unload the dishwasher, rinse the dishes again (we have hard water and to make a long story short…the dishes usually need to be rinsed again once they’ve gone through the dishwasher), dry them with a towel, and put them away. Then he reloads the dishwasher with the dirty dishes that are in the sink. For tackling this chore, he earns 40 minutes of game time. For something like emptying the recycling can, he earns 5 minutes.

Personal Goals:

3. ~~Do resistance band exercises 4x~~

4. ~~Walk a total of 200 minutes on the treadmill~~

5. ~~Read 10 pages of The Lord of the Rings (Part One) The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien~~

6. ~~Journal 2x~~

Home Management Goals:

7. ~~De-clutter one corner of our home~~

8. ~~Fill one bag with items to donate~~

Business Goals:

9. ~~Edit, upload, & post a video on how to make a honey sugar facial scrub~~

10. ~~Shoot, edit, & upload a family vlog~~

Here are my goals for this week:

Family/Mothering Goals:

1. Continue to work on memorizing two verses of scripture as a family

2. Plan individual ‘Day Out with Dad’ and ‘Day Out with Mom’ dates for the month of April

Personal Goals:

3. Do resistance band exercises 4x

4. Walk a total of 200 minutes on the treadmill

5. Read 10 pages of The Lord of the Rings (Part One) The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien

6. Journal 2x

Home Management Goals:

7. Schedule a pancake making session for myself and follow through on making a whole bunch of pancakes for future meals

8. Fill one bag with items to donate

Business Goals:

9. Shoot, edit, & upload four videos to our family YouTube channel.

10. Shoot, edit, & upload two family vlogs (I have one done already.)

Free Breakfast at Chick-fil-A (Blessed Seven – Vlog #1)

I overcame my fear of vlogging today. Although, I do think you can hear a little uncertainty in my voice. 😉

But even so, I made it through one video and found out that it was easier than I thought it would be. I do use the word “um” quite a lot, though. And I didn’t realize that until I started watching the videos. I’m going to work on not using that word so much in the next video.

There’s that, and when I was watching the videos at home, I realized that Elisabeth’s car seat strap wasn’t totally right. She likes to adjust her own straps so that she’s comfortable, but sometimes she overdoes it.

By the way, we’ve decided to name these video blogs our “Blessed Seven” vlogs. We chose this name because there are seven of us, and we’re very blessed. 🙂

We thought about naming it “Our Happy Seven” but felt that “Blessed Seven” was more true to life.
