It’s May, and, yes, I totally have winter hats laying around my house. 🙂

They should be neatly packed away in a box somewhere…just waiting to be used next winter, but they’re not. They were actually hanging around Elisabeth’s changing table.

And since we have about 1,234,455 hats already, these two hats have GOT to go.

The hats went and so did one of Elisabeth’s baby shirts and more stray toys. Everything went into the donation bag with the exception of one of the hats.

Did you do any decluttering today? Are all of your hats, gloves, and scarves packed up for the winter?

I spent a little time going through a toy basket today and picked out 7 random toys. The zhu zhu pet is being donated, and everything else went to the trash.

Did you clean any clutter out of your home today?

I love this challenge.

It’s forcing me to get rid of STUFF.

Stuff that I don’t need. Stuff that others could use. Stuff that belongs in the trash and not taking up space in our home.

I’m getting rid of stuff, and I like it.

It was pretty easy to find things to declutter today. The secret is to do it when the kids aren’t paying attention. 🙂

Then I’m able to get rid of things quickly and without notice.

Otherwise, you know what happens, right?

They notice you’re throwing away that toy they haven’t played with in a year and suddenly, it’s one of their most prized possessions, which promptly gets put away (again) for safekeeping. Or, if your kids are younger, they’ll just start playing with said toy right then and there to prove that it should remain in their possession.

Kids are so funny.

Today, 4 items went to donation and the other items met the trash can.
