I’m having a pretty productive day today, even though my baby girl, Elisabeth, has a fever. π
We thought it was odd that she had been taking strangely long naps for the past two days and suspected that something was up (she didn’t feel like she had a fever just yet), then it hit her full force last night.
I ended up being up with her from about 3:00am until 6:00am, when I turned her over to Ruben so that he could stay up with her while I got a little sleep. I knew that if I didn’t go back to bed, I wouldn’t be able to tackle all the cooking I wanted to get done today.
Elisabeth is still sick, but we are praying that this fever goes away soon. For some odd reason, out of all of our children, when she gets a fever, it stays with her for at least a week. I’m hoping that’s not the case for her this time. Poor baby!
Anyway, hereβs how I did withΒ theΒ Day 7 Assignment:
:: Get dressed in something that makes you feel great. — I got dressed in my black capris and Escalate t-shirt, which I got from the Savvy blogging conference. I felt good wearing this outfit, but I didn’t get any pictures because I, um, didn’t straighten my hair or wear makeup today. After the rough night of being up with Elisabeth, I was happy to get the basics done this morning…shower, dressed, teeth brushed, contacts in, and hair combed and pulled back.
:: Create a list of weekly goals. — Here are my weekly goals, and I made a list of Day 7 goals.
:: Set the timer for 15 minutes and vacuum the main living areas of your home. — Okay…not that I don’t ever vacuum, but it’s not something I do on a regular basis. The reason being is that we’ve made vacuuming an everyday chore for our two oldest children, Nathan and Breanna. Our 3 year-old absolutely loves to vacuum, too, but he does it more for fun. π
My two oldest children have to either vacuum or help with the laundry everyday (for allowance). Ruben normally does all the vacuuming for the rest of the house while I hold the baby.
*Update: I meant to post this the day before Thanksgiving, when I had almost all of it written, but life happened (which for us meant I was up until 2:00 am making mashed potatoes and apple pie).
Happy Thanksgiving!
