Family meals are incredibly important.
So is being able to make a chicken sandwich in your hotel room (with a toaster oven) for your entire family of seven.
Yeah. We did it. 🙂
Actually, creating a chicken sandwich recipe that your family will love is easier than you might think. That is, it’s easy when you’re using restaurant quality Tyson Crispy Chicken Breast Bites for the chicken portion of the sandwich.
Time Saving Shortcut
The chicken breast bites are truly a fantastic shortcut that allowed me to create a delicious crispy chicken sandwich quickly and easily before I had to be at the next session of a blog conference that I recently attended. It sounds adventurous to make this kind of family meal in a hotel room, but it not only saved us money, it also added some variety into our meals as we traveled.
Here’s how we did it:
First, we took a shopping trip to Sam’s Club, and after I had picked up all of the ingredients that I needed to create chicken sandwiches, we headed back to the hotel room and started cooking!

How to Make Crispy Chicken Sandwiches
I used a toaster oven to cook the chicken breast bites, but all you need to do to cook the chicken is to follow the instructions right on the package. Once your chicken bites are in the oven, you can get started on preparing the ingredients that’ll go inside the sandwich.
I topped our chicken sandwiches with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and provolone cheese. For the buns, I used slightly smaller buns that you might normally use for a burger, but I wouldn’t call them ‘mini’ buns, either. They were sort of in between normal and mini-size. Simply use whatever works best for your family, though you could definitely use the chicken bites to make ‘mini’ chicken sandwiches, too.
Once the chicken breast bites are done, take them out of the oven, and either (very carefully) on the same baking sheet or on a new baking sheet place the chicken bites directly onto the bottom half of the bun. Place the top half of the bun on the baking sheet as well, though not on top of the chicken – just off to the side. Then place the cheese directly on top of the chicken bites. Put the baking sheet back into the oven and turn it on broil. Cook just until you see that the cheese has melted, then take the baking sheet out of the oven.
Put the chicken sandwiches on plates and assemble with the romaine lettuce and tomato.
Once your crispy chicken sandwiches are assembled, give yourself a big pat on the back for creating a quick delicious meal, then dig in, and enjoy.
We had kettle chips as our side, which was kind of a no-brainer as a side item since we weren’t at home, and chips just pair well with chicken sandwiches.
Final Thoughts
My family truly loved the crispy chicken breast bites, and I love that I was able to make a family meal in little time that was satisfying and left them asking for more the next day.
