I’ve been waiting to share my latest blog design project, and I’m glad to say that I can now! I did a complete blog design for a wonderful couponer by the name of Kathryn. We started by moving Kathryn from Blogger to WordPress. While that process did have a few kinks at first, things went beautifully after we had the hosting and domain issues all worked out.

Overall, I’m thrilled with the way the design turned out. Kathryn was a true pleasure to work with, and I know she loves her new blog. She’s still working on getting the minor details settled on where she wants them to be (widgets and such), but the blog is ready for you to head over and check out! The blog is called Real Housewives Clip Coupons – great name for a blog, huh? 🙂

Our day started out as a typical Tuesday for us. We woke up, got ready, and headed to Chick-fil-A for their free breakfast on Tuesdays (it was chicken minis this week). The kids got to play in the play room for a bit after breakfast, and then we headed back to the car to drop Ruben off at a meeting he had to be at.

While Ruben was at the meeting, we headed to the library to drop off books and pick out new ones. And I made sure to give David and Isaac a little time to use up some energy in the play area of the library. Isaac busied himself with a puzzle while David wandered around mostly looking at the other children that were there.

After the library, we went to pick up Ruben then briefly stopped off at the grocery store to order a birthday cake and headed for home.

I had a doctor’s appointment later this afternoon, so, around 1:30pm, we packed into the car and headed for my appointment. I could have gone by myself, but the kids needed to GET OUT of the house, so, we decided they’d have a late lunch with Ruben while I went to my appointment.

Everything was going routine with my appointment until it was time to check for the baby’s heartbeat. The doctor couldn’t find it, and after several minutes, she decided to bring in a nurse to try. Nothing. And then finally, something very faint for a couple of seconds.

The doctor wasn’t satisified, so we headed for another room where a quick ultrasound could be done. She found the heartbeat a couple of seconds and it looked fine, but then found it again for a longer period of time, and it seemed to be beating slower than it should be. Again, the doctor didn’t like the look of that and didn’t want to leave me unsure, so she ordered a formal ultrasound.

The only thing was that the ultrasound wasn’t scheduled to be done until 6pm. That gave me some time to think and reflect. What if there really was something wrong? What if the baby wasn’t doing well inside of me?

I could not help but think and come to the conclusion that this child inside of me isn’t mine at all. He or she belongs to the Lord, and the Lord is in control over everything. Everything. I had no need to worry. And so I didn’t. God is in control.

I had the ultrasound done, and thankfully, the baby’s heartbeat was normal. So, I go on with this pregnancy with my trust in God, and I’m ever so thankful to Him for the positive news I received that the baby is fine.

I get to look forward to another ultrasound in 4 weeks without worry.

And that was our day.

P.S. I did ask the ultrasound technician if she could tell if the baby was a boy or girl. She couldn’t. Shucks!

I was asked to write up my testimony for our church. I think I may have to share it in front of the congregation in the future. :-0 (I know I’ll be fine.) But I thought I’d share it with you guys, too.

I was first introduced to God by my grandmother at an early age, and from there I grew up in the Catholic religion. My grandmother would take us to church, make us memorize prayers, and had us complete other regular Catholic rituals – like our first communion and confirmation. I would say at this point that I had a knowledge of God, and I certainly believed that there was a God and His name was Jesus, but I didn’t truly KNOW GOD.

By the time I was about 17 years old, I was no longer attending the Catholic church or any church for that matter until I met the person who is now my husband, Ruben. He invited me to attend the Christian church his family attended, and from the first time that I attended, I loved it. The worship was vibrant and alive, and the preaching was biblical and unlike anything I’d ever experienced in the Catholic religion. Ruben and I stayed in that church for about three years thinking that we were both Christians. He thought that he had been converted at a young age, and I thought that I had become a Christian while attending that church for some time.

It wasn’t until the early months of 2003 that we’d come to realize we were not truly saved and truly were not converted all of those years. It happened during a trying time in our lives where we began to pray and ask the Lord if He was real and if so…to reveal Himself to us. We prayed this over and over, and in this time, we also committed to reading the book of Revelation together.

Well, after reading Revelation, you can imagine the questions that we had. That’s when Ruben happened to pick up a book he found at his mother’s house that was written specifically written about the book of Revelation.

We both decided to read the book….and that was the beginning of God opening our eyes and removing the veil. Besides finding out the meaning of some of the difficult scriptures in Revelation, the Lord showed us through that book that we were not truly saved, we were living for the world, and our lives did not reflect a desire for God or a true knowing of Him. From that time on, my life has been forever changed. I repented of my sin and put my faith in Jesus Christ. I began to pray regularly and seek the Lord and His will for my life. He, in turn, began to radically change my desires by His Holy Spirit, and we started on the journey to living a holy life for the Lord.

After finishing the book about Revelation, we quickly started reading God’s Word and have not left it since. Why would we? 🙂

And that’s my testimony. To God be the glory.

It’s fun watching the kids be creative all on their own.

David loves to be outside, and he’s fiercely protective of his firetruck.

Breanna likes riding the “trick” bike she got for Christmas – although not many tricks are being performed at this time.

There’s no lack of imagination inside the house, either.
