Well, it’s time for another goals post. I’m shocking myself a bit by how much I’ve been able to blog this year.
I’m no great blogger, that’s for sure, but I feel like I’ve kept a pretty good pace with my blog this first half of the year. I’m hoping to keep it up for the rest of 2022.
What are you up to this spring/summer? We’ve enjoyed going on family walks and my husband has our garden going. Sadly, one of our apple trees died so we’ll have to replace it at some point. We purchased a twisted apple tree a couple of years ago from a local nursery.
I had no idea twisted apple trees were a thing and I can’t say I’d purchase them again in the future now that one has died, but, basically, we bought a Honeycrisp and a McIntosh apple tree that were “twisted” together so that they could pollinate each other. Here are our trees when they were in bloom this year. Beautiful, right?
Well, the thinner of the two trees was totally dead a few weeks later. π
I don’t know whether it’s the Honeycrisp or the McIntosh that died. We’ll find out once we figure out what type of apples are growing on the tree that is left. The bright side of this story is that the stronger tree that’s left is producing apples this year when we didn’t get a single apple from either tree last year.
Anyway, if you have any good apple tree recommendations I’d love to hear them. If you’re gardening, how are things coming along for you?
Here are my goals for the next week or so:
Family/Mothering Goals:
1. Take Nathan out for a special meal — My husband and I started taking one of our kids out to eat for a special meal each week throughout the holidays and we’ve decided to continue through 2022. Nathan wants to go to Buona Beef. I think that’s a great choice because I love their chopped salad. It’s filling and delicious. The salad below is from City Barbeque where we went to eat with Breanna. I like their salads, too, but I prefer Buona’s chopped salad.
2. Do driving lessons with Breanna at least twice – We recently had her drive a bit further away from our neighborhood and she did a good job.
Personal Goals:
3. Lift hand weights 3 times
4. Walk at least 180 minutes — I plan to do this by walking on the treadmill and taking family walks outside.
5. Read Bible
6. Journal twice
Home Management Goals:
7. Fill a bag with items to donate
8. Clean downstairs bathroom
Business Goals:
9. Go through 5 business emails
10. Film, edit, and upload a video to my YouTube channel — I finally started publishing to YouTube again and, hopefully, I’ll keep it up.
What are your goals for this week?
