I want to share with you guys my latest blog design project. It’s a design done on a wordpress.com blog for Patty of Pk’s House. We ended up doing three revisions until we got the design just right, but it was worth it to hear Patty say that she loves her new design. This week’s update is going to be a two-week update since I didn’t post any updates last week. For week 8, I lost 0 pounds. π And for week this week’s update, I’ve lost .5 pounds. It’s something.
I know that part of the problem is that I haven’t been eating the healthiest in the last few weeks. We celebrated two birthdays in our family which involved two cakes and pizza, twice. AND, I’ve finally come to the hard conclusion that I actually have to stop drinking frappes every day instead of just saying it. I’m now only having frappes nearly every other day. I say nearly because I totally forgot I had a frappe yesterday before it was too late today. I totally thought yesterday was my frappe-free day. Whoops! π Someone’s got to drink it! But I promise not to have any tomorrow.
Anyway, I’m already getting back to eating healthier, and now that the weather is shaping up, we are going to get outside and walk a lot more often. We’ve already taken two family walks in the last week, one to the park and one to Walgreens. I love that Walgreens is so close to us! I’m hoping to lose at least one pound by next week’s update, but overall, I’m happy to still be losing and inching closer to my goal of losing 50 pounds this year.
Okay….so I’m a little late, but better late than never, right? The truth is I spent quite a bit of time over the weekend working on another project, and then when I tried to get away today to work on the finishing touches of the business website, my plans went down the tubes. Ruben kindly let me sneak out of the house so that I could go to a certain fast food restaurant for their free wi-fi. Um…too bad the wi-fi turned out to be extremely s.l.o.w. and twenty minutes after I sat down, I still had nothing done due to the slow connection and the timing out.
I decided to try Starbucks instead, but right after I pulled in, Ruben called me with the news that I needed to go home because he got a phone call and needed to fax some things asap. And we don’t own a fax machine, so, he needed the car. Long story short, I spent the afternoon trying to finish the website amidst wild children and ended up taking several breaks. But it’s done. Finally.
The name? The business is called “Purely Sensible Design,” and I’ll be specializing in blog design for Blogger, self-hosted WordPress blogs, and WordPress.com blogs. It wasn’t easy.
